Summary 

The Trainer works as a contributing member to the overall store operations to help ensure client training needs are supported, employee job training needs are supported and serves as quality assurance for internal operations.  This is a visible position, which interacts with many levels of the organization across multiple functions.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

The following is a list of general job responsibilities for the Trainer position.  This list is not all-inclusive and may be broadened or changed to meet changing business needs.   

  • One-on-one obedience training for daycare and boarding dogs   

  • Obedience training in a class setting  

  • Evaluation of potential new dogs to daycare 

  • Training and re-training of new and tenured staff on appropriate handling skills 

  • Ongoing quality assurance of dog handling operations  and assists in all roles to support location.  

  • Marketing to attract new clients 

  • Email and phone correspondence with clients for scheduling and follow up training recaps 

  • Ensure client needs are being met and ensure satisfaction of services through effective communication 

  • Ensure staff needs are being met through high quality department trainings 

     

Experience/Education/Certifications 

  • Applicants MUST have at least 2 years of previous professional training experience, trainer certification is preferred.

  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel)  

  • Ability to lift at least 45 lbs.
